Cindi A. Prentiss



Cindi has more than 30 years of experience as a New York State Licensed Physical Therapist. She is certified in the specialized McKenzie Spine and Schroth Scoliosis methods and is a skilled, licensed massage therapist. Cindi became a BSPTS C1 certified Schroth Scoliosis Therapist in 2014 and a BSPTS C2 certified Schroth Scoliosis Therapist in 2016.

Cindi has distinguished herself through her coordination and direction of the Pregnancy and Back Pain Program, with numerous published articles, TV exposure and lectures to both physical therapists and the public. The pregnancy program has been featured on CBS News and Cablevision’s “Extra Help” Channel, as well as in Baby Magazine, Glamour Magazine, American Baby Magazine, Newsday, New York Daily News, Spotlight Magazine, L.I. Lifestyle Magazine and various, local papers.

Cindi’s reputation as a professional and compassionate expert in her field, and as an active community member, has led to three professionally equipped and staffed locations. Physical Therapy & Beyond offers patients on the North Shore, South Shore and East End of Long Island comprehensive programs designed to treat orthopedic, sports-related, women’s and men’s health, geriatric and pre / post pregnancy conditions.

Laura Quirk

LAURA QUIRK, PT, Cert. MDT., ECS, ABPTS Board Certified in Clinical Electrophysiology, Clinical Director at Physical Therapy & Beyond


Laura has 30 years of experience as a New York State Licensed Physical Therapist and is certified in the specialized McKenzie Spine method. She became ABPTS board certified in Clinical Electrophysiology in 2016 and received her Fellowship in Musculoskeletal Ultrasound in 2018. Laura joined Physical Therapy and Beyond in 2001 and she has been the Clinical Director at our establishment since 2005. Laura is dedicated to providing her patients with the most effective treatment and continues her education and training in the latest physical therapy programs available.

Lindsay Baisley



Lindsay received her bachelors degree in Exercise Physiology from Adelphi University and went on to complete her Doctorate of Physical Therapy degree at New York Institute of Technology. Lindsay has been a part of our company for 3+ years and continues to pursue continuing education opportunities. She currently specializes in Schroth Physical Therapy for scoliosis, concussion rehab, EMG/NCV testing and is on her way to becoming a certified McKenzie therapist. Lindsay is a BSPTS C1 certified Schroth Scoliosis Therapist.

Heather Smyrski

HEATHER SMYRSKI, DPT, Cert. MDT, BSPTS Schroth Scoliosis Therapist


Heather Smyrski is a graduate of the Doctor of Physical Therapy program at Daemen College in Buffalo, New York. Immediately following graduation, she moved to Long Island and started working at Physical Therapy & Beyond. Heather is a certified McKenzie (MDT) spine and extremities specialist. She is also one of our BSPTS Advanced C2 certified Schroth Scoliosis Therapists.

When Heather is not treating her patients or continuing her education, she enjoys playing with her Boston Terrier, Duke. She looks forward to working with you to provide you with an exceptionally effective and fun recovery experience, and is excited to empower you to learn self treatment methods.


Dr. Maureen Taylor



Dr. Maureen Taylor holds a B.S. in Exercise Science, a Minor in Spanish and a concentration in Nutrition from the University of Scranton. She furthered her studies at the University of Scranton and received her Doctorate of Physical Therapy in 2018. While receiving her degree, Maureen played and assisted coaching for the University of Scranton field hockey team. Prior to graduation, she completed her final internship at Physical Therapy and Beyond. After graduation, she joined our staff as a New York State licensed Physical Therapist. Since graduating, Maureen has furthered her education training, taking continuing education courses in vestibular rehabilitation and therapeutic yoga techniques. While not at work, Maureen is a sports and exercise enthusiast and enjoys staying active.
